Prints & Drawings
The incorporation of objects with printed images provides a coded narrative on place and my place within this place to instigate reaction, contemplation, thus generating associations and cross-references. In Heirlooms the chosen plethora of found objects engage and interact as word games and puzzles. The ordered grids and triptychs embody this series of mixed media renderings with nonchalant political commentary. This is imbued with the personal fragility of the individual’s presence. My accrued detritus are affixed to paper for scrutiny as pseudo scientific discoveries. I am the self appointed historian recording these contemporary shards: galvanized buckets, handmade lace, towropes, sink stoppers, hardware, doll clothes, twigs, et cetera, catalogued and gridded for clarity. My reintegration and restructuring of these talismans is as poetic as a Rorschach inkblot test.
